The flight of 120 steps leads to the cave temple. It is believed that the inception of the temple might date back to third century B.C.. The Jain cave temple is now converted and dedicated to Bhagavathy.
I was not allowed to take any pictures inside the temple, but surprisingly I was allowed to enter and participate in the pooja ritual. Pooja is an act of invocation, prayer, offering or song showing reverence to a deity, or to an aspect of the divine.Pooja is an act of invocation, prayer, offering or song showing reverence to a deity, or to an aspect of the divine. We offered flowers (pushpam), gandham (sandal paste), which was both read and beige.  After the ritual you place some of the gandham on your forehead and your throat.  Mr. Sajayan was amazed that they allowed me to enter the temple, so I felt very honored to witness such ancient ritual.
