The building was built around 1889 as a home of Lou Kau, a prominent Chinese merchant.  It is a combination of Chinese architecture and Portuguese decoration.

Even though Chinese New Year has past (February 5th) the decorations and the festive feel are still in Senado Square.

Portuguese Charm in Macau


For close to 500 years Macau was occupied by the Portuguese.  The charm of the architecture is found throughout the old city.  I skipped the casinos and wandered around here - luggage in tow.

Wonderful coffee - went well with my fried noodles.  Unfortunately for me, but fortunate for pork lovers - everything has pork - this is the queue to just get pork buns.  Sorry the smell alone was more than enough for me.

Hong Kong to Macau


Arrived at Hong Kong airport at 5 in the morning.  It was great - no crowds so I could zip through immigration, get money and be on the turbo jet by 8 am bound for Macau.
